If any sentence could be applied to Hamlet it is this sentece used by Polonius to tell one of his son's friends how to get his whereabout. The sentence indeed coulld be applied to the whole play. Is what H does with the players, it iis what Claudius and Gertrude recommend to Hamlet's friends R.& G and it is used in the whole play.Indirect means are at the core.
